Cozumel Carnival 2026: Schedule of Activities

The island of Cozumel is preparing to experience one of the Mexican Caribbean’s most iconic festivities: Cozumel Carnival 2026. This event, which blends tradition, color, and local hospitality, features an extensive calendar running from mid-January through February 18. For foreign residents and tourists visiting the destination, this celebration offers a unique opportunity to integrate into the local culture through massive events and waterfront parades.

Activity Calendar Starting January 29

As the Carnival moves toward its peak stage, activities at official venues will intensify. Thursday, January 29, marks an important gathering with the DIF Inclusive Runway “Supporting the 2026 Inclusive Kings,” which will take place at the Moby Dick entertainment center at 7:00 P.M.

Subsequently, on Saturday, January 31, the same venue will host the Carnival King & Queen Voting Night, a decisive event where the community elects its sovereigns, featuring live music by the group Judors starting at 10:00 P.M.

The February agenda begins with the Diversity Voting Night on Friday the 6th, featuring appearances by Wapayasosand Juana Guadalupe. On Saturday, February 7, it will be the youth’s turn with the Youth King & Queen Voting, featuring a performance by the artist Lasso. Finally, Sunday, February 8, will be dedicated to the little ones with the presentation of the elected Children’s and Youth Kings, featuring a show by Luli Pampín at 6:00 P.M.

For visitors looking to enjoy the festivities in an open-air environment with no admission fee, Quintana Roo Park stands as the primary venue.

Activities at this location officially begin on Sunday, February 1, at 7:00 P.M. with the Popular Presentation of the 2026 Carnival Kings, where the group Judors will set the rhythm for the night in the plaza. As the Carnival’s “Grand Week” approaches, the park’s activity intensifies:

• Wednesday, February 11: At 7:30 P.M., the Coronation of the Kings will take place—a formal event full of elegance and tradition, headlined by Méndez de Pilón.
• Saturday, February 14: In the framework of the first parade, the park will host the iconic Super Lamas and Raquel Bigorra at 10:00 P.M.
• Sunday, February 15: On this day, the park serves as both a logistics and entertainment hub. From 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., it will be the site for the Paint & Run 5k kit distribution. At 10:00 P.M., the stage will vibrate with a double concert by Chico Che Chico and Che Maney.
• Monday, February 16: The music continues at 8:30 P.M. with a performance by Korto Circuito.
• Tuesday, February 17: The Grand Popular Closing will take place at 10:30 P.M. with a historic night of cumbia and tropical rhythms by Margarita “La Diosa de la Cumbia” and Junior Klan.

5th Edition of the Ceviche Festival

On Monday, February 16, at 1:00 P.M., Benito Juárez Park will host the 5th Edition of the Ceviche Festival. This event has established itself as a benchmark for Cozumel’s gastronomy, attracting international palates interested in the flavors of the sea.

This edition holds special significance as it will pay tribute to Ángela del Socorro Carrillo Chulín (R.I.P.), who was the primary driving force and vision behind this festival. Her work allowed this event not only to promote local culinary talent but also to become a cultural and gastronomic heritage enjoyed by residents and tourists alike.

Paint & Run 5k Cozumel 2026

For those who wish to participate actively in the festivities, the Paint & Run 5k is the ideal option on Monday, February 16. This sporting event is not a competition but a community experience for all ages that traverses the island’s Malecón (Waterfront).

The race will start at 4:00 P.M. at the Explanada de la Bandera (Flag Esplanade). The registration fee is $350 MXNand includes the official kit. Please note that wearing the official t-shirt and runner number is mandatory to access the event and the color powder stations.

Kits will be delivered on Sunday, February 15, from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Quintana Roo Park. Authorized points of sale include:

• Señor Frog’s
• ZonaCell: Branches on 65th Ave and 30th Ave.
• Cozu Case: Branches on 30th Ave and Juárez St. at 95th.
• Municipal DIF and the Sports Department.
• Partenón Institute and University of Cozumel.

The Grand Parades and the Carnival Closing

The heart of the Carnival lies in its parades along the Waterfront. The Grand Carnival Parades will take place on Saturday 14, Sunday 15, and Tuesday 17 of February, all starting at 6:00 P.M. These parades are the perfect opportunity for photographers and tourists to capture the essence of the dance troupes (comparsas) and decorative floats.

The event will officially conclude on Wednesday, February 18, at Benito Juárez Park at 7:30 P.M. with the traditional Burning of Juan Carnaval and the awards ceremony for various contests. With this symbolic act, Cozumel closes its season of celebration.

Cozumel Carnaval 2026 Programa Actividades.

La isla de Cozumel se prepara para vivir una de las festividades más emblemáticas del Caribe Mexicano: el Carnaval Cozumel 2026. Este evento, que fusiona la tradición, el color y la hospitalidad de su gente, presenta un calendario extenso que abarca desde mediados de enero hasta el 18 de febrero. Para los residentes extranjeros y turistas que visitan el destino, esta celebración representa la oportunidad de integrarse a la cultura local a través de eventos masivos y desfiles frente al mar.

Calendario de actividades desde el 29 de enero

A medida que el Carnaval avanza hacia su etapa culminante, las actividades en los recintos oficiales se intensifican. El jueves 29 de enero marca un punto de encuentro importante con la Pasarela Inclusiva DIF “Apoyando a los Reyes Inclusivos 2026”, la cual se llevará a cabo en el centro de espectáculos Moby Dick a las 7:00 P.M.

Posteriormente, el sábado 31 de enero, el mismo recinto albergará la Noche de Votaciones a Reyes del Carnaval, un evento determinante donde la comunidad elige a sus soberanos, amenizado por el grupo Judors a partir de las 10:00 P.M.

La agenda de febrero inicia con la Noche de Votaciones de la Diversidad el viernes 6, contando con la presencia de Wapayasos y la Juana Guadalupe. El sábado 7 de febrero será el turno de la juventud con las votaciones para Reyes Juveniles, donde se presentará el artista Lasso. Finalmente, el domingo 8 de febrero se dedicará a los más pequeños con la presentación de los Reyes Infantiles y Juveniles electos, contando con el espectáculo de Luli Pampín a las 6:00 P.M.

Para los visitantes que buscan disfrutar en un ambiente abierto y sin costo de acceso, el Parque Quintana Roo se posiciona como el escenario principal.

Las actividades en este recinto comienzan oficialmente el domingo 1 de febrero a las 7:00 P.M. con la Presentación Popular de los Reyes del Carnaval 2026, donde el grupo Judors pondrá el ritmo a la noche en la plaza. Conforme se acerca la “Semana Mayor” del carnaval, el parque intensifica su actividad:

• Miércoles 11 de febrero: A las 7:30 P.M. se llevará a cabo la Coronación de los Reyes, un evento protocolario lleno de elegancia y tradición, amenizado por Méndez de Pilón.
• Sábado 14 de febrero: En el marco del primer desfile, el parque recibirá a las 10:00 P.M. a los icónicos Super Lamas y Raquel Bigorra.
• Domingo 15 de febrero: Este día el parque funciona como centro logístico y de espectáculos. De 12:00 P.M. a 5:00 P.M. será la sede para la entrega de kits de la Paint & Run 5k. Por la noche, a las 10:00 P.M., el escenario vibrará con un concierto doble de Chico Che Chico y Che Maney.
• Lunes 16 de febrero: La música continúa a las 8:30 P.M. con la presentación de Korto Circuito.
• Martes 17 de febrero: El gran cierre popular tendrá lugar a las 10:30 P.M. con una noche histórica de cumbia y ritmos tropicales a cargo de Margarita “La Diosa de la Cumbia” y Junior Klan.

5ta Edición del Festival del Ceviche

El lunes 16 de febrero a la 1:00 P.M., el Parque Benito Juárez será la sede de la 5ta Edición del Festival del Ceviche. Este evento se ha consolidado como un referente de la gastronomía de Cozumel, atrayendo a paladares internacionales interesados en los sabores del mar.

Esta edición tiene un significado especial, ya que rendirá un homenaje a Ángela del Socorro Carrillo Chulín (Q.E.P.D.), quien fue la principal impulsora y visión detrás de este festival. Su labor permitió que este evento no solo promocionara el talento de los chefs locales, sino que se convirtiera en un patrimonio cultural y gastronómico que hoy disfrutan residentes y turistas por igual.

Paint & Run 5k Cozumel 2026

Para quienes desean participar activamente en las festividades, la carrera Paint & Run 5k es la opción ideal el lunes 16 de febrero. Este evento deportivo no es una competencia, sino una experiencia de convivencia sin límite de edad que recorre el Malecón de la isla.

La carrera iniciará a las 4:00 P.M. en la Explanada de la Bandera. El costo de inscripción es de $350 MXN e incluye el kit oficial. Es importante señalar que es obligatorio portar la camiseta y el número de corredor para tener acceso al evento y a las estaciones de polvos de colores.

Los kits se entregarán el domingo 15 de febrero de 12:00 P.M. a 5:00 P.M. en el Parque Quintana Roo. Los puntos de venta autorizados incluyen:

• Señor Frogs
• ZonaCell: Sucursales en 65 Av. y 30 Av.
• Cozu Case: Sucursales en 30 Av. y calle Juárez con 95.
• DIF Municipal y Dirección de Deportes.
• Instituto y Universidad Partenón de Cozumel.
• Antojitos Alonzo (Calle 25 sur casi con Av. 65).

Los Grandes Paseos y el Cierre del Carnaval

El alma del Carnaval reside en sus desfiles sobre el Malecón. Los Gran Paseo del Carnaval se realizarán el sábado 14, domingo 15 y martes 17 de febrero, todos iniciando a las 6:00 P.M. Estos desfiles son la oportunidad perfecta para que los fotógrafos y turistas capturen la esencia de las comparsas y los carros alegóricos.

El evento concluirá oficialmente el miércoles 18 de febrero en el Parque Benito Juárez a las 7:30 P.M. con la tradicional Quema de Juan Carnaval y la ceremonia de premiación de los diversos concursos. Con este acto simbólico, Cozumel cierra su temporada de fiestas.
