Cozumel Vivo Fest: “Yes to the Reef” Boosts Sustainable Tourism on the Island

Cozumel, Mexico, is preparing for the Cozumel Vivo Fest, a three-day festival (July 11-13, 2025) dedicated to sustainability and environmental regeneration. Under the theme “Yes to the Reef,” this event seeks to strengthen the island’s relationship with its natural environment, promoting a responsible tourism model that benefits both the ecosystem and the local community.

Cozumel’s reef is critical not only as a tourist attraction but also as an essential protection for its inhabitants. The Cozumel Vivo Fest seeks to raise awareness and implement concrete actions for its preservation.

The Regenerative Tourism Forum, the festival’s centerpiece, will take place on July 11 at 1:00 p.m. in Benito Juárez Park. This forum will bring together local leaders, committed citizens, and national and international experts. Its objective is to share experiences and seek innovative solutions to the challenges of tourism in Cozumel, fostering a sustainable future for the island.

The festival will take place in various locations, including Hotel B Cozumel and the Occidental Cozumel, offering an immersive experience that combines art, culture, wellness, sports, and nature.

Friday, July 11: “Emerge”

The first day focuses on awareness and the exchange of ideas. Activities include:

• Welcome with the Cozumel Symphonic Band.
• Panel discussions on sustainable destinations and marine conservation.
• Formation of the “Grand Pact for a Regenerative Cozumel.”
• Group exhibition by local artists.
• Special ceviche dinner with live music.

Saturday, July 12: “Expand”

The second day celebrates art, culture, and wellness:

• Yoga Masterclass.
• Inquiry into personal regeneration.
• Diving or snorkeling experience in a coral reef to learn about a reef regeneration project.
• Sunset Sessions with music, marine art, and a special dinner featuring local cuisine.

Sunday, July 13: “Deliver”

The last day is dedicated to gratitude and commitment:

• Aqua Run and Breathwork sessions.
• Balance Brunch.
• Cultural Experience: Interpretation of the Mayan Calendar and tour of San Gervasio.
• Vegan cooking class and Soundhealing.

Cozumel, México se prepara para el Cozumel Vivo Fest, un festival de tres días (11 al 13 de julio de 2025) dedicado a la sostenibilidad y la regeneración ambiental. Bajo el lema “Sí al Arrecife”, este evento busca fortalecer la relación de la isla con su entorno natural, promoviendo un modelo de turismo responsable que beneficie tanto al ecosistema como a la comunidad local.

El arrecife de Cozumel es fundamental no solo como un atractivo turístico, sino también como una protección esencial para sus habitantes. El Cozumel Vivo Fest busca generar conciencia y acciones concretas para su preservación.

El Foro de Turismo Regenerativo, evento central del festival, se llevará a cabo el 11 de julio a la 1:00 p.m. en el Parque Benito Juárez. Este foro reunirá a líderes locales, ciudadanos comprometidos y expertos nacionales e internacionales. Su objetivo es compartir experiencias y buscar soluciones innovadoras para los desafíos del turismo en Cozumel, fomentando un futuro sostenible para la isla.

El festival se desarrollará en diversas ubicaciones, incluyendo el Hotel B Cozumel y el Occidental Cozumel, ofreciendo una experiencia inmersiva que combina arte, cultura, bienestar, deporte y naturaleza.

Viernes 11 de julio: “Emerger”

El primer día se enfoca en la concienciación y el intercambio de ideas. Las actividades incluyen:

• Bienvenida con la Banda Sinfónica de Cozumel.
• Paneles de discusión sobre destinos sostenibles y vigilancia marina.
• Conformación del “Gran Pacto por un Cozumel Regenerativo”.
• Exposición colectiva de artistas locales.
• Cena especial de ceviches con música en vivo.

Sábado 12 de julio: “Expandir”

El segundo día celebra el arte, la cultura y el bienestar:

• Master Class de Yoga.
• Indagación sobre la regeneración personal.
• Experiencia de buceo o snorkel en un banco de corales para conocer un proyecto de regeneración de arrecifes.
• “Sunset Sessions” con música, arte marino y una cena especial con gastronomía local.

Domingo 13 de julio: “Entregar”

El último día se dedica a la gratitud y el compromiso:

• “Aqua run” y sesiones de “Breathwork”.
• “Brunch del Equilibrio”.
• “Experiencia Cultural: Interpretación del Calendario Maya y recorrido por San Gervasio”.
• Clase de cocina vegana y “Soundhealing”.
