Jigen Fest Arrives in Cozumel: Celebrating Asian Culture with a Cause

This weekend, the Moby Dick Entertainment Center will become the epicenter of Asian culture with the arrival of Jigen Fest. The event, taking place on June 14 and 15, promises a weekend full of activities celebrating comics, manga, anime, K-pop, and much more.

Susana Peralta, a representative of Jigen Fest, commented: “This is the first time we’ve brought these great Peoples together in Cozumel. It will be a weekend event, Saturday and Sunday. It’s to celebrate Asian culture: comics, manga, anime, K-pop, all in one event for the people.”

The festival not only seeks to entertain but also to support a worthy cause. On this occasion, Jigen Fest is partnering with the Meraki Cozumel Association, an organization that helps people on the island suffering from cancer. The funds raised will be used for ferry tickets, consultations, free medications, and psychological support for patients.

Jigen Fest will feature prominent cosplayers and artists, including:

  • Cotton Candy (Cancún): A long-standing cosplayer with thousands of followers.
  • Alice Max (Playa del Carmen): Founder of Anime Fest.
  • Kattcosplay (Cozumel): Prop designer.
  • Sheikclif Cosplay (Mérida): Professional cosplayer, master of ceremonies, and cosplay contest judge.
  • La Gruta de Alux (Yucatán): Creators of iconic characters.

Mauro G., known as “Sheikclif Cosplay,” expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “This great festival will be an icon for you to live a different experience, with stars and different types of lighting. We will also have K-pop dances, video game contests, training card games, and each ticket will be specific to a special class of our organization.”

Tickets for Jigen Fest are now on sale and offer attractive promotions:

  • Individual tickets (Saturday or Sunday): $100
  • Special package (two tickets, Saturday and Sunday): $180
  • Family package (up to four people): $350
  • Children under six enter free.

Plus, all tickets are entered into a raffle at the end of the event.

Jigen Fest Llega a Cozumel: Celebración de la Cultura Asiática con Causa

Este fin de semana, el Centro de Espectáculos Moby Dick se convertirá en el epicentro de la cultura asiática con la llegada del Jigen Fest. El evento, que se llevará a cabo los días 14 y 15 de junio, promete un fin de semana lleno de actividades que celebran el cómic, manga, anime, K-pop y mucho más.

Susana Peralta, representante del Jigen Fest, comentó: “Es la primera vez que reunimos a estas grandes personas en Cozumel. Será un evento de fin de semana, sábado y domingo. Es para celebrar la cultura asiática que reunimos: cómic, manga, anime, K-pop, todo en un solo evento para el pueblo”.

El festival no solo busca entretener, sino también apoyar una noble causa. En esta ocasión, el Jigen Fest se une a la Asociación Meraki Cozumel, una organización que ayuda a personas de la isla que padecen cáncer. Los fondos recaudados se destinarán a boletos de ferry, consultas, medicamentos gratuitos y apoyo psicológico para los pacientes.

El Jigen Fest contará con la presencia de destacados cosplayers y artistas, entre ellos:

  • Cotton Candy (Cancún): Cosplayer con una larga trayectoria y miles de seguidores.
  • Alice Max (Playa del Carmen): Fundadora del Anime Fest.
  • Kattcosplay (Cozumel): Diseñadora de utilería.
  • Sheikclif Cosplay (Mérida): Cosplayer profesional, maestro de ceremonias y juez del concurso de cosplay.
  • La Gruta de Alux (Yucatán): Creadores de personajes icónicos.

Mauro G., conocido como “Sheikclif Cosplay”, expresó su entusiasmo por el evento: “Este gran festival será un ícono para que puedan vivir una experiencia diferente, con estrellas y diferentes tipos de iluminación. También tendremos bailes de K-pop, concursos de videojuegos, juegos de cartas de entrenamiento, y cada entrada será específica para una clase especial de nuestra organización”.

Los boletos para el Jigen Fest ya están a la venta y cuentan con atractivas promociones:

  • Boletos individuales (sábado o domingo): $100
  • Paquete especial (dos boletos, sábado y domingo): $180
  • Paquete familiar (hasta cuatro personas): $350
  • Niños menores de seis años entran gratis.

Además, todos los boletos participan en una rifa al final del evento.
