Luna Needs a Forever Home !!
Luna was living hidden in a vacant lot, only coming out at night when she felt completely safe enough to search for food.
She survived thanks to the kindness of two neighbors. A man who sold tacos would often give her a meat taco, and a neighbor would sometimes leave kibble for her. They estimated that Luna had been living there for 3 to 4 months, surviving on her own while doing everything she could to avoid people.
Despite all the posts, no one ever came looking for her. No one asked about her, and because of the overwhelming fear she lived with, rescuing her seemed almost impossible.
Luna wouldn’t let anyone get close to her. The slightest attempt to help would send her running away in complete panic.
In the end, our team responded with a humane trap, and it was the only way we were able to bring her to safety.
From the very first day, it was clear that Luna carried the weight of a very painful past. She stayed curled up in a corner, barely wanting to come out, and every movement filled her with fear. Even when she arrived in her crate or had to be taken out for her spay surgery, she was so frightened that she would urinate from stress.
Today, looking at Luna reminds us why we should never give up on an animal who has suffered.
