Cozumel is eagerly awaiting next Wednesday. The first official registered cruise ship, the Enchantment of the Seas, is scheduled to arrive in Cozumel on May 27th.  Cruise ships have already returned to Acupulco, with the Sun Princess the first to arrive Tuesday past.  The Enchantment of the Seas has a capacity of 2,446 passengers and 800 crew members, and is slated to dock at the SSA pier.

Cozumel está aguardando con impaciencia el próximo miércoles. El primer crucero, el “Enchament of the Seas”, se programa para llegar en Cozumel el 27 de mayo. Los cruceros han vuelto ya a Acupulco, con la “Sun Princess” el primero para llegar el martes. El “Enchantment of the Seas” tiene una capacidad de 2.446 pasajeros y de 800 miembros de tripulacion, y estan programado para pegar en el muelle del SSA.

Power Yoga Cozumel is holding a mini-yoga retreat on this Saturday, May 23rd.  It’s an all day event, from 8 am to 6 pm.  The program includes meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises) Asanas (yoga postures), lectures covering the philosophy of yoga, and even a pot luck vegetarian lunch!  Space for this particular event is limited, and expected to fill up fast, so please register quickly, or you’ll have to wait for the next one! Cruz Roja (Red Cross) 7th Annual Golf Tournament has been changed to August 1st. Tee off is at 8 am.  The format is a 4 person scramble, with trophies for the top three teams. There will be chances to win a car on each Par 3 hole with a hole-in-one. There will be many other prizes available to win with closest to the pin prizes on every Par 3 hole as well as raffles for prizes including hotel stays, spa treatments, etc.

Local businesses as well as individuals may donate prizes, anything new, dvd players, televisions, jewelry, watches, certificates for dinners at local restaurants, etc., for the raffle.  If you’re interested in registering to golf, please contact Benny Campos, Golf Pro, If you’re interested in donating prizes or volunteering, please contact Cruz Roja.

El 7° torneo anual del golf de Cruz Roja se ha cambiado al 1 de agosto. Va a empezar a las 8 am. El formato es 4 personas revueltas, con los trofeos para los tres equipos superiores. Habrá ocasiones de ganar un coche en cada Par 3  con un hoyo en uno. Habrá muchos otros premios disponibles ganar con lo closest to pin premios en cada hoyo tan bien como las rifas para los premios incluyendo estancias del hotel, tratamientos en spa, etc.

Los negocios locales así como individuos pueden donar premios, cualquier cosa nueva, dvd, televisiones, joyería, relojes, certificados para las cenas en los restaurantes locales, etc., para la rifa. The grand prize  of the Fishing Tournament will stay in Cozumel this year.  Kenny Flores, in his boat “Kenya” landed a 185 lb Blue Marlin.  Second prize also went to another Cozumel boat, “Star.”  Also of note this year were two all female teams, one, headed by Lourdes Villanueva, landed a white marlin and came in fforuth, and the all-female Cartier team, took home a scooter  for the largest Wahoo.  Crowds at the downtown pier were heavy, in spite of an early morning downpour.  All in all there were 175 participants.

El premio magnífico del torneo de la pesca permanecerá en Cozumel este año. Kenny Flores, en su barco “Kenia” capturo un marlin azul de 185 libras. El segundo premio también fue a otro barco de Cozumel, “estrella.” También de la nota este año era dos los equipos femeninos, uno, dirigido por Lourdes Villanueva, aterrizó un marlin blanco y vino en fforuth, y el equipo de Cartier de todas-mujeres, tomó a casa una vespa para el Wahoo más grande. Las muchedumbres en el embarcadero céntrico, a pesar de un aguacero de la madrugada. Cosiderándo había 175 embarcaciones participantes.
