Cozumel’s 8th Annual Ironman Just Over a Week Away

Triathletes from all over the world will meet in Cozumel on November 27th…

 November 27th, just over a week away, marks the 8th year of the official Ironman Cozumel.  Two thousand eight hundred athletes and their supporters from all over the world will on Cozumel Island  prior  to this long-awaited event.  This is another sold out Cozumel Ironman in spite of the $750 USD entry fee.  The elite race start is at 7:00 am with the regular rolling start at 7:30 am at Chankanaab National Park.    The entire downtown waterfront will be closed off so spectators can cheer on the competitors, including many local athletes.

Estamos a una semana del 27 de noviembre y ese día se cumplen 8 años del Ironman de Cozumel. Dos mil ochocientos atletas y sus seguidores procedentes de todo el mundo llegarán a la Isla de Cozumel para este evento tan esperado. Este es otro evento más cuyos espacios se han agotado, no obstante el costo de la cuota de registro de $750 dólares estadounidenses. La selecta competencia iniciará a las 7:40 a.m. y la salida normal a las 7:30 a.m. desde el Parque Nacional de Chankanaab.  Todo el malecón estará cerrado para que los espectadores puedan animar a los competidores, incluyendo a muchos atletas locales.

En tanto que aún se desconoce cuáles serán las calles que estarán cerradas al tránsito vehicular, aquí encontrarán un enlace del año pasado, ya que se espera sea similar.
