First woman governor of the State of Quintana Roo

Chetumal, Quintana Roo. – María Elena Lezama Espinosa made history on September 25 when she was sworn in as the first woman governor of Quintana Roo for the 2022 – 2027 term, in the session hall of the Legislative Branch where several social, political, and economic sectors of the State gathered to witness this unprecedented event for the State.
The XVII Legislature’s solemn session was attended by Adán Augusto López Hernández, the Secretary of the Interior personally representing the Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador; the outgoing governor Carlos Joaquín and Justice Heyden José Cebada Rivas, president of the State Supreme Court of Justice and of the Judiciary Council, who were welcomed by Cozumel’s Congress Representative Renán Sánchez Tajonar, Chair of the Government and Political Coordination Board.
Before the Congress Representatives of the XVII Legislature, Governor Mara Lezama affirmed that she will preside a government defined by total respect for the division of political powers and democratic values.
“Our first task in this in-depth transformation, is to create a new political and public service awareness that will completely and definitely break off from the past; that meets the ‘Decalogue of Principles and Values of the new Government’ and proves with facts that we are not the same”, she said.
In addition, she asked all for their support and involvement to transform the economic and social model of Quintana Roo and set the transformation in motion.
“On my part, I am committed to making a transparent government, and honest, efficient, modern and socially minded government that fights against corruption and the vices of power; a government that does not lie, that does not steal and does not betray the people,” she asserted.
“This is just the beginning; we will continue working and managing support for the citizens, because I am clear that my loyalty is to the people and my compromise is to be a close congressman and agent for the people.”
Congresswoman Mildred Ávila Vera, chair of the Board of Directors of the First Year of Sessions, welcomed governors, senators of the Republic, federal congress representatives, the diplomatic corps and other special guests who gathered at the session hall of the Legislative Branch.
The Courtesy Committee that escorted the representatives of the Executive and Judicial Branches, as well as representatives of the Federal Executive Brach, was integrated by Congresswomen Andrea González Loría, María Fernanda Cruz Sánchez, María José Ososrio Rojas, and by Congressmen Humberto Aldana Navarro and Issac Janix Alanís.

Chetumal, Quintana Roo. – María Elena Lezama Espinosa hizo historia el pasado 25 de septiembre al rendir protesta como la primera mujer que gobernará Quintana Roo para el periodo 2022 – 2027, ante un salón de sesiones del Poder Legislativo que congregó a representantes de diversos sectores sociales, políticos y económicos de la entidad para ser testigos de este acontecimiento sin precedentes para el Estado.
A la sesión solemne de la XVII Legislatura asistieron Adán Augusto López Hernández, secretario de Gobernación con la representación personal del presidente de México Andrés Manuel López Obrador; el gobernador saliente Carlos Joaquín y el magistrado Heyden José Cebada Rivas, presidente del Tribunal Superior de Justicia y del Consejo de la Judicatura del Estado, quienes fueron recibidos por el diputado cozumeleño Renán Sánchez Tajonar, presidente de la Junta de Gobierno y Coordinación Política.
Ante las diputadas y diputados de la XVII Legislatura, la gobernadora Mara Lezama aseguró que encabezará un gobierno que se distinguirá por el respeto absoluto por la división de poderes y los valores democráticos.
“Nuestra primera labor en esta transformación profunda, es crear una nueva conciencia política y de servicio público que rompa por completo y definitivamente con el pasado; que cumpla con el ‘Decálogo de Principios y Valores del nuevo Gobierno’, y demuestre con hechos, que no somos iguales”, mencionó.
Además, pidió a todas y todos su apoyo y participación para transformar el modelo económico y social de Quintana Roo y para poner en marcha la transformación.
“De mi parte, me comprometo a hacer un gobierno transparente, un gobierno honesto, eficiente, moderno y con sentido social que luche contra la corrupción y los vicios del poder; un gobierno que no mienta no robe y no traicione al pueblo”, puntualizó.
La diputada Mildred Ávila Vera, presidenta de la Mesa Directiva del Primer Año de Sesiones, dio la bienvenida a gobernadores, senadores de la República, diputados federales, cuerpo diplomático y demás invitados especiales que se dieron cita en el salón de sesiones del Poder Legislativo.
La comisión de Cortesía que acompañó a los representantes de los poderes Ejecutivo y Judicial, así como al del Poder Ejecutivo Federal, estuvo integrada por las diputadas Andrea González Loría, María Fernanda Cruz Sánchez, María José Osorio Rojas y los diputados Humberto Aldana Navarro e Issac Janix Alanís.
