Rebel Studio: The Success of Integrated Wellness in Cozumel.

Cozumel’s wellness sector has experienced significant growth, attracting a diverse demographic looking to improve their quality of life and stay active. In this context, Rebel Studio has established itself as a benchmark, offering an integrated vision of health and beauty.

Founded by Casey Elizabeth, the Pilates instructor, Rebel Studio began its journey in 2021. Elizabeth arrived in Cozumel during the pandemic, initially as a place to give private online classes to her clients in Mexico City. What started as a private rehabilitation and Reformer Pilates studio quickly expanded to become what it is today, soon celebrating its fourth anniversary.

Rebel Studio describes itself as a boutique Pilates studio. While its main focus is the Reformer, they also offer services using the Ladder Barrel and Spring Wall. In addition to private classes, they teach group sessions, Matclasses, and soon, Barre classes. The studio distinguishes itself by being bilingual and offering high-quality services.

Rebel Studio’s vision evolved upon identifying a need for high-end and bilingual services on the island. Initially, the focus on Pilates attracted rehabilitation patients, with doctors, such as Dr. Jorge Martí, recommending Pilates as a form of “conscious exercise.” The professional relationship with Dr. Martí further integrated as it became personal, strengthening a very cohesive wellness approach.

The concept expanded with the opening of a beauty clinic called Renew by Rebel Studio, operating under the philosophy “Look Good Feel Good.” This clinic specializes in non-surgical medical aesthetics, with highly trained doctors who travel to the island weekly.

The core of Rebel Studio’s concept and its wellness network is consistent and guaranteed quality. The idea is that every area of care, from Pilates to aesthetics, is backed by the same level of excellence. Upon entering any of their businesses, clients interact with licensed, expert professionals—many with international training—who are bilingual and offer services at an accessible and transparent cost.

Casey Elizabeth emphasizes that Cozumel, known as the “Island of Sport,” attracts active people, including an older demographic of retirees from the US and Canada, who are looking for optimal ways to stay in motion and age healthily. This market has driven the demand for high-level wellness services.

“We are seeing tourists and new people coming to the island who want wellness services, and they want high quality, high-level service, and we are here to provide it.”

El sector del bienestar en Cozumel ha experimentado un crecimiento notable, atrayendo a una demografía diversa que busca mejorar su calidad de vida y mantenerse activo. En este contexto, Rebel Studio se ha establecido como un referente, ofreciendo una visión integrada de salud y belleza.

Fundado por Casey Elizabeth, la instructora de Pilates, Rebel Studio comenzó su andadura en 2021. Elizabeth llegó a Cozumel durante la pandemia, inicialmente como un lugar para dar clases privadas en línea a sus clientes de la Ciudad de México. Lo que empezó como un estudio privado de rehabilitación y Pilates con reformer, se expandió rápidamente para convertirse en lo que es hoy, celebrando pronto su cuarto aniversario.

Rebel Studio se describe como un estudio boutique de Pilates. Si bien su foco principal es el reformer, también ofrecen servicios con el ladder barrel y el spring wall. Además de clases privadas, imparten sesiones grupales, clases de Mat y próximamente, clases de Barre. El estudio se distingue por ser bilingüe y ofrecer servicios de alta calidad.

La visión de Rebel Studio evolucionó al identificar una necesidad de servicios high-end y bilingües en la isla. Inicialmente, el enfoque en Pilates atrajo a pacientes de rehabilitación, con médicos, como el Dr. Jorge Martí, recomendando el Pilates como un “ejercicio consciente”. La relación profesional con el Dr. Martí se integró aún más al volverse personal, fortaleciendo un enfoque de bienestar muy cohesivo.

El concepto se amplió con la apertura de una clínica de belleza llamada Renew by Rebel Studio, bajo la filosofía “Look Good Feel Good” (Verse Bien, Sentirse Bien). Esta clínica se especializa en estética médica no quirúrgica, con doctores altamente capacitados que viajan a la isla semanalmente.

El núcleo del concepto de Rebel Studio y su red de bienestar es la calidad uniforme y garantizada. La idea es que cada área de atención, desde el Pilates hasta la estética, esté respaldada por el mismo nivel de excelencia. Al ingresar a cualquiera de sus negocios, los clientes tratan con profesionales licenciados, expertos, en muchos casos con formación internacional, bilingües, y que ofrecen servicios a un costo accesible y transparente.

Casey Elizabeth subraya que Cozumel, conocida como la “Isla del Deporte”, atrae a personas activas, incluyendo una demografía más adulta de retirados de Estados Unidos y Canadá, que buscan formas óptimas de mantenerse en movimiento y envejecer saludablemente. Este mercado ha impulsado la demanda de servicios de wellness de alto nivel.

“Estamos viendo turistas y gente nueva que viene a la isla que quiere servicios de bienestar y quieren un servicio de alta calidad y alto nivel y estamos aquí para proporcionárselo.”
