11th Prince and Princess Race in Cozumel organized by AMEXME

Cozumel, Quintana Roo – The spirit of solidarity and sport merge again on the island of Cozumel with the celebration of the 11th Race of Princes and Princesses, organized by AMEXME Cozumel Chapter. On this occasion, the race will take place on Saturday, April 20 at 6 pm, starting from the emblematic Municipal Palace.
The event, which has become an annual tradition on the island, promises to be a fun experience for the whole family. This year it also includes the “Dog” modality, which allows participants to run alongside their faithful canine companions.
Irma Portilla from Cantarell and Rosy Zapata from the Sports Directorate, who led the press conference to present the details of the event, expressed their enthusiasm and commitment to this noble cause. “This race fills all of our hearts,” said Portilla de Cantarell, highlighting the importance of promoting family values and sports in the community.
Zapata added: “We are excited to once again support our talented local athletes. Thanks to the support of AMEXME, we have been able to equip local athletes and sportsmen, helping them achieve their dreams.”
The race, which will have two categories of 3km and 5km, seeks to bring together around 300 to 400 participants, as in previous years. In addition, prizes will be awarded for costumes and for first places in each category, encouraging participation and the competitive spirit.
The event, which accompanies the celebrations of Children’s Day and Family Day, seeks to promote physical activity and family ties, while raising funds to support local child athletes. “This is a race with a cause,” emphasized Portilla de Cantarell, underlining AMEXME’s commitment to the community.
The Sports Directorate was committed to providing logistical and security support during the event, guaranteeing a safe and fun experience for all participants. Likewise, it was announced that the funds raised will be used to support different sports disciplines, including athletics, weightlifting and chess, benefiting talented children and young people on the island.
The organizers called on the community to join this noble cause and participate in the race. “The best promotion is by word of mouth,” said Zapata, urging everyone to spread the word about the event and contribute to its success.
In a gesture of gratitude, Portilla de Cantarell highlighted the importance of collaboration and synergy between all sectors of the community. “Cozumel has always moved forward when we come together in a joint effort,” she said, recognizing the fundamental role of each individual in building a prosperous future for the island.

Cozumel, Quintana Roo – El espíritu de solidaridad y deporte se fusionan nuevamente en la isla de Cozumel con la celebración de la 11a Carrera de Príncipes y Princesas, organizada por AMEXME Capítulo Cozumel. En esta ocasión, la carrera tendrá lugar el sábado 20 de abril a las 6 de la tarde, con partida desde el emblemático Palacio Municipal.
El evento, que se ha convertido en una tradición anual en la isla, promete ser una experiencia divertida para toda la familia, este año tambien se incluye la modalidad de “Perrotón”, que permite a los participantes correr junto a sus fieles compañeros caninos.
Irma Portilla de Cantarell y Rosy Zapata de la Dirección de Deportes, quienes encabezaron la rueda de prensa para presentar los detalles del evento, expresaron su entusiasmo y compromiso con esta noble causa. “Esta carrera nos llena el corazón a todos”, expresó Portilla de Cantarell, destacando la importancia de promover los valores familiares y el deporte en la comunidad.
Zapata agregó: “Estamos emocionados de apoyar una vez más a nuestros talentosos deportistas locales. Gracias al apoyo de AMEXME, hemos podido equipar a atletas y deportistas locales, ayudándoles a alcanzar sus sueños”.

El evento, que acompaña la celebraciónes del Día del Niño y del Día de la Familia, busca promover la actividad física y los lazos familiares, mientras se recaudan fondos para apoyar a niños deportistas locales. “Esta es una carrera con causa”, enfatizó Portilla de Cantarell, subrayando el compromiso de AMEXME con la comunidad.
La Dirección de Deportes se comprometió a brindar apoyo logístico y de seguridad durante el evento, garantizando una experiencia segura y divertida para todos los participantes. Asimismo, se anunció que los fondos recaudados se destinarán al apoyo de diferentes disciplinas deportivas, incluyendo atletismo, halterofilia y ajedrez, beneficiando a niños y jóvenes talentosos de la isla.
Los organizadores hicieron un llamado a la comunidad para unirse a esta causa noble y participar en la carrera. “La mejor promoción es de boca en boca”, señaló Zapata, instando a todos a difundir el evento y contribuir a su éxito.
