Xcaret Mexican Folk Art Fair 2025: Tradition and Craftsmanship in One Place

An opportunity to experience the diversity of Mexican art and artisans in one place.

From September 25 to 28, 2025, the Hacienda Henequenera at Xcaret Park will host the second edition of the Xcaret Mexican Folk Art Fair. This event seeks to establish itself as a benchmark in the southeast of the country, bringing together 140 artisans from various regions of Mexico, who will exhibit and sell authentic pieces resulting from ancestral techniques.

The fair’s main objective is to celebrate Mexico’s cultural richness through the mastery of its creators. Visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate and purchase products made with traditional techniques such as weaving, clay molding, wood carving, hammock weaving, and work with plant fibers, among others.

The event will cover a wide range of craft categories, including:

• Huajes (Handmade)
• Cartonería (Paper Carving)

• Wixarika (Huichol)

The fair program will offer various activities for attendees, such as the exhibition and sale of pieces, a craft competition, presentations, live demonstrations, and catwalks of artisanal clothing.

The fair’s daily activities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the exhibition and sale of pieces at the Hacienda Henequenera and close at 7:30 p.m. Demonstrations of artisanal techniques will take place at the Tejabán, while keynote addresses and discussions will take place at the Capilla de Guadalupe.

Among the guest speakers and artisans who will share their knowledge and experience are:

• Carlos Tejada (UNESCO): Will give the keynote address “UNESCO: A Look at the Safeguarding of Yucatecan Mayan Embroidery” on Thursday, September 25. He will be accompanied by artisan Génesis Avilés from the Yucatán State Council of Embroiderers.
• Olivia Meza (NGO Impacto): Will present the keynote address “Textiles in Dialogue #TraditionalFriday” on Friday, September 26, alongside artisans Anacleta Juárez Miranda and Cristina Brasil Casa Grande.
• Marta Turok: Will give the keynote address “Behind Objects and Processes of Folk Art” on Sunday, September 28, with the participation of guest artisan Zeny Fuentes.

Attendees have two options to access the event:

• Exclusive ticket for the fair: It costs $10.66 USD and can be purchased at the Xcaret Park ticket office.
• Xcaret Park + Fair Ticket: Admission to the fair is included for those who purchase a ticket to Xcaret Park. Prices are $142 USD for adults and $107 USD for children.

This fair represents an opportunity to immerse yourself in the richness of Mexican crafts, admire the skill of talented artisans, and support local talent.

Feria Xcaret Arte Popular Mexicano 2025: Tradición y Artesanía en un Solo Lugar

Una oportunidad de conocer la diversidad del arte y los artesanos en México en un solo lugar.

Del 25 al 28 de septiembre de 2025, la Hacienda Henequenera de Parque Xcaret será la sede de la segunda edición de la Feria Xcaret de Arte Popular Mexicano. Este evento busca consolidase como un referente en el sureste del país, reuniendo a 140 artesanas y artesanos de diversas regiones de México, quienes exhibirán y pondrán a la venta piezas auténticas, resultado de técnicas ancestrales.

La feria tiene como objetivo principal celebrar la riqueza cultural de México a través de la maestría de sus creadores. Los visitantes tendrán la oportunidad de apreciar y adquirir productos elaborados con técnicas tradicionales como el telar, el moldeado del barro, la talla de madera, el urdido de hamacas y el trabajo con fibras vegetales, entre otras.

El evento abarcará una amplia gama de categorías artesanales, incluyendo:

• Huajes
• Cartonería
• Talla
• Wixarika (Huichol)
• Hamacas
• Cerámica
• Madera
• Textiles
• Joyería

El programa de la feria ofrecerá diversas actividades para los asistentes, tales como exhibición y venta de piezas, un concurso artesanal, ponencias, demostraciones en vivo y pasarelas de indumentaria artesanal.

Las actividades diarias de la feria iniciarán a las 10:30 a.m. con la exhibición y venta de piezas en la Hacienda Henequenera, y cerrarán a las 7:30 p.m. Las demostraciones de técnicas artesanales se llevarán a cabo en el Tejabán, mientras que las conferencias magistrales y conversatorios tendrán lugar en la Capilla de Guadalupe.

Entre los ponentes y artesanos invitados que compartirán su conocimiento y experiencia, destacan:

• Carlos Tejada (UNESCO):Ofrecerá la conferencia magistral “UNESCO: Una mirada a la salvaguardia del bordado maya yucateco” el jueves 25 de septiembre. Estará acompañado por la artesana Génesis Avilés del Consejo Estatal de Bordadoras de Yucatán.
• Olivia Meza (NGO Impacto):Presentará la conferencia magistral “Textiles en diálogo #ViernesTradicional” el viernes 26 de septiembre, junto a las artesanas Anacleta Juárez Miranda y Cristina Brasil Casa Grande.
• Marta Turok:Impartirá la conferencia magistral “Detrás de objetos y procesos del arte popular” el domingo 28 de septiembre, con la participación del artesano invitado Zeny Fuentes.

Los asistentes tienen dos opciones para acceder al evento:

• Boleto exclusivo para la feria:Tiene un costo de $200 MXN y puede adquirirse en las taquillas del Parque Xcaret.
• Boleto Parque Xcaret + Feria:La entrada a la feria está incluida para quienes adquieran su boleto de acceso al Parque Xcaret. Los precios son $2,860 MXN para adultos y $2,145 MXN para niños.
