Cozumel, June 2023. – For the second year in a row, with a Pride march and by lighting up the City Hall with the colorful flag of the collective, the municipal government of Cozumel joined the celebration of the International LGBT+Pride Day.
Cozumel’s mayor, Juanita Alonso Marrufo, is the first mayor to participate in this non-government event, thus demonstrating her commitment to the subject of inclusion and equal rights in the Island.
For the second year in a row, the government of Cozumel joins this International LGBT+Pride Day celebration, lighting up the front of the City Hall with the colors of the flag representing the collective.
This is a sign of our support in favor of equal rights for all, where, as an authority, it is up to us to accommodate all groups of the society, even more so in a government
that emanating from the left. Know that in me you have a friend, and congratulations, enjoy your days, and thank you very much for allowing us to participate, because united we are greater.”
After the third councilwoman and chair of the Commission for Equality and Gender, Fabiola Aislinn Chávez Brito, congratulated the group, she reiterated that in her they will always have a helping hand, and ally of the community in the city government.
Meanwhile, the queen of diversity 2023, Danielle Gea Tun Yam, called on the collective to continue conquering the world in their own way, as the world would not be as beautiful without existence of the community. “We deserve to be able t show ourselves as we are. Let’s be allies, let’s be the strength, leadership, and unity, to make the change. Let’s raise our voices for those who never could. We are a community that unites, improves accepts and participates in our society, where every person can be treated with respect and equality; we all deserve to be happy. Let’s be a generation free to love and express.”
It should be noted that the LGBT+ Pride March took place on 11th Avenue, starting on 65th Avenue where the godmother of diversity, 2023 Yessica Mis Payán, was crowned, to later begin the parade all the way to the Quintana Roo Park where the light show tool place. Also present were the king of diversity 2023, Raziel Ulises Quiñones Pat; “The Most Drag 2023”, Scarlett: the ambassadors of diversity 2023, Fedra del Mar and Enrique Paredes; the queen of the 2023 Cozumel Carnival, Rox Wendolly Esparza, and the host of the LGBT+ Cozumel community organization, Gabriel Espinosa Arevalo, among other important members of the society.

Cozumel, junio de 2023. – Con una marcha PRIDE y el encendido de luces decorativas que iluminaron el palacio con los colores arcoíris, el municipio de Cozumel celebró el “Día Internacional del Orgullo LGBT+”.
La presidenta municipal de Cozumel, Juanita Alonso Marrufo, es la primera en participar en esta actividad no gubernamental, demostrando así su compromiso en el tema de inclusión e igualdad de los derechos en la isla.
Por segundo año consecutivo el Ayuntamiento de Cozumel se suma a esta conmemoración por el Día Internacional del Orgullo LGBT+, iluminando la fachada del palacio municipal con los colores de la bandera representativa del colectivo.
“Esto es muestra de nuestro respaldo en favor de la igualdad de los derechos para todos, donde como autoridad nos corresponde darles cabida a todos los grupos de la sociedad y más aun siendo un gobierno emanado de izquierda. Sepan que en mí tienen a una amiga y muchas felicidades, que disfruten sus días, y muchas gracias por permitirnos participar, porque unidos somos más grandes”, dijo.
Por su parte, la tercera regidora y presidenta de la Comisión para la Igualdad y Género, Fabiola Aislinn Chávez Brito, luego de felicitar al colectivo por su día, refrendó, que en su persona siempre tendrán una mano amiga, una aliada del Ayuntamiento para con la comunidad.
En tanto que la reina de la diversidad 2023, Danielle Gea Tun Yam, llamó al colectivo a seguir conquistando el mundo a su modo, ya que el mundo no sería tan lindo sin la existencia de la comunidad. “Merecemos poder mostrarnos tal como somos. Seamos aliados, seamos fuerza, liderazgo y unión, para ser capaces de hacer el cambio. Levantemos la voz por los que nunca pudieron. Somos una comunidad que se une, mejora, acepta y participa en nuestra sociedad, donde toda persona puede ser tratada con respeto e igualdad, todos merecemos ser felices, seamos una generación libre de amar y expresar”.
Cabe destacar que la marcha por el orgullo LGBT+ se llevó a cabo sobre la 11 avenida, iniciando en la 65 avenida donde fue coronada la madrina de la diversidad 2023, Yessica Mis Payán, para posteriormente, iniciar el desfile hasta llegar al parque Quintana Roo donde tuvo lugar el encendido de luces, lo cual también fue atestiguado por el rey de la diversidad 2023, Raziel Ulises Quiñones Pat, “La más Drag 2023”, Scarlett; los embajadores de la diversidad 2023, Fedra del Mar y Enrique Paredes; la reina del Carnaval Cozumel 2023, Rox Wendolly Esparza y el anfitrión de la organización de la comunidad LGBT+ Cozumel, Gabriel Espinosa Arévalo, entre otras personalidades de la sociedad.

Se ha mantenido durante 10 años en reconocido periódico impreso de circulación regional denominado Diario Por Esto Quintana Roo, manteniendo la corresponsalía del municipio de Cozumel.
En cada tarea que desempeña asegura que mantener la pluma activa conlleva a una gran responsabilidad, por ello siempre tiene presente ejercer adecuadamente el periodismo y la redacción con dedicación a sus padres,a quienes honra y asegura que son el pilar de su vida.
