COZUMEL, December 2021. – With the intention to promote art on the Island, next Saturday, December 11 artist Addy Bacelis will have an exhibit called “Fantasies of the Caribbean” through the Extramural Museum located in an outdoor establishment, in an effort to inspire the public to attend, hoping -as well- that every day more and more join this type of initiative.

Addy Bacelis recognized that the pandemic changed the format of the events where artists’ families could be with them as well as friends and peers allowing analysis and suggestions on the artworks; She also added, “virtual exhibits are not the same as those where people attend, especially because the filters of the cameras change the colors and it is not the same feeling.”

For this reason, she hopes that other artists will join the extramural exhibits promoted by Cozumel’s Parks and Museums Foundation through art and pedagogy areas of the Island Museum, as this has been another option to resume the artistic work of Cozumel residents who had stopped this type of activities.

In a press conference, the artist shared that the exhibit next Saturday, will consist of paintings on canvas that inspired by the Island’s sunsets, just as its environment, revealing a glimpse of fantasy, which she had not done in other editions of the six exhibitions in her artistic career.

She pointed out that her first works were fluids colors on wood in remembrance of Minerva Marí Hadad, the late champion of culture in the Island, who -she said- encouraged her to carry out individual exhibits, and which she wants to keep as long as possible.

It is worth noting that the artist promotes artistic activities among the community and the circle of artists, hence she seeks that more and more artists join spreading the very many works of art they create. In her case, she concluded, she has several thousand works without including the art objects.
