2024 Cozumel Carnival Comes to an End

COZUMEL, February 2024. – In a very crowded “malecón” (main waterfront avenue) close to 50 floats paraded each of the three-day parade of 150th anniversary of Cozumel’s Carnival, while in a family environment more than 100 thousand people, among them locals and tourists, were elated by the joy, rhythm, and fun of carnival dancers.
The parade was presided by the well-known host, Fernando Ferráez – Mr- Show -, leading the way together with the official ballet of the 2024 Carnival’s Queen and King, Marisol Magaña and Tonio Villanueva, as well as all other sovereigns of the different categories. Also, the mayor’s, Juanita Alonso Marrufo’s, float with her special guests such as the governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, and the president of the State DIF System, Veronica Lezama, and of Cozumel, Susana del Mar Coral Villanueva.
In a family atmosphere, over 1000 people enjoyed the last parade of floats where close to fifty floats paraded full of fun and dance and spread this carnival spirit to the spectators.
On this third parade, a long standing cultural and artistic tradition was celebrated as well in the vehicles of different sizes, decorated with colorful themes such as the sea, Pixar characters like those of Toy Story, or others like Among Us and Bluey, as well as epic films such as Star Wars. This in addition to the Goddess of the Nile, the Alebrijes and other floats calling up the spirit of the Carnival. There were other floats reminiscing the 60s and 70s along their troupes, such as the Ladies of the Salsa, and the Elegantes de la Salsa with their 26-year tradition, just to mention a few; and the wacax che bull, and the batucadas bringing the Brazilian rhythm to the Mexican Caribbean while many danced at the beat of the samba.
The great parade of floats that traveled along the waterfront of this Magical Town, closed with fireworks marking the end of the traditional celebrations of the 150th most beautiful Carnival of the Mexican Caribbean.
Concliye el Carnaval Cozumel 2024

Cozumel, febrero de 2024.- Ante un pletórico malecón desfilaron cerca de medio centenar de carros alegóricos durante los tres días de paseo de los 150 años del carnaval en Cozumel, que fue disfrutado en un ambiente familiar tanto de las más de 100 mil personas entre locales y turistas que fueron contagiados por la alegría, ritmo y diversión de los carnavaleros.
El desfile inició teniendo al querido conductor de los carnavaleros Fernando Ferraz “El señor espectáculo” abriendo paso junto al ballet oficial a los Reyes del Carnaval 2024, Marisol Magaña y Tonio Marrufo Villanueva, y demás soberanos de las distintas categorías, así como del carros alegórico de la munícipe, Juanita Alonso Marrufo quien tuvo como invitadas especiales a la gobernadora de Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama y a las presidentas del Sistema DIF estatal, Verónica Lezama y de Cozumel, Susana del Mar Coral Villanueva.
En un ambiente familiar, más de 100 personas disfrutaron de este último paseo de carros alegóricos en el que desfilaron cerca de medio centenar de vehículos derrochando alegría, baile y diversión, que hizo de este cierre los espectadores se contagiaran del espíritu carnestolendo.
En este tercer paseo se también se disfrutó de una añeja tradición cultural y artística a través de los vehículos de diversas dimensiones, decorados con coloridas temáticas como las representaciones del mar, personajes del pixar, como Toy Story, otros más como Among Us y 
Bluey, además de épicas películas como Star Wars, además de la Diosa del Nilo, Alebrijes, entre otros carros que evocaron a los años 60´s y 70´s y todas las comparsas, las Damas de la Salsa, los elegantes de la Salsa con sus 26 años de tradición por mencionar algunos, sin dejar de faltar el torito “wacax che”, las batucadas Cozumel, Caribe y Batucada Ritmista, entre otras, que le pusieron el sabor brasileño al mejor carnaval del Caribe mexicano al compás de la samba.
La pirotecnia marcó el cierre de este gran paseo de carros alegóricos que recorrió la principal arteria de este Pueblo Mágico y el fin de las tradicionales fiestas en su 150 aniversario del carnaval más bonito del Caribe Mexicano.
