Covid Restrictions Cozumel Masks

Masks are No Longer Required in Outdoor Settings in Cozumel

Last Sunday, the Governor of Quintana Roo, Carlos Joaquin announced that as of March 21, mask restrictions would be lifted in open air situations, since the state continues to remain in a green level, with low COVID-19 cases.

To paraphrase the Governor’s video message:

“The use of Masks when outside and in open-air public spaces when exercising, walking on the street or on the beach is now voluntary as of Tuesday, March 22 in Quintana Roo.

The obligatory wearing of masks will still apply when in enclosed spaces: supermarkets, banks, public transportation, offices, restaurants, medical facilities and educational facilities or where there are crowds, flea markets, etc.

The situation remains fluid and  will be reevaluated  constantly especially around Easter.”
