Details on the 47^th “Rodeo De La Lanchas Mexicanas” Fishing Tournament

While many people look forward to the holidays, here we look forward to prime fishing season, and with prime fishing season comes the biggest fishing tournament of the year!   This year will be the 47^th “Rodeo de Lanchas  Mexicanas”

Friday the 11t^h , as is the norm, is the banquet dinner for the participants, with the actual fishing days being on Saturday and Sunday the 12^th and 13^th.

The organizers have announced the prizes, they include:   cars, trucks, motos and money.  First place is a Mercedes Benz car.  Second place is a truck.

This tournament will also be catch & release. Sharks are not permitted.  White Marlin and sailfish are both catch-and-release.  The catch-and-release must be accompanied  with a video.

Each boat is allowed one specimen per species each day.  This means if you catch 4 dorado in one day, only one can be taken into consideration for the day.  However, if you catch 4 dorado and 1 barracuda, one dorado and one barracuda can be submitted.

Fishing starts at 8AM each day and scales close sharply at 6pm.  The scales open at 4pm.  Whether you are in the tournament or just want to people watch, at the end of each day head down to the ferry pier about 4PM and watch the weigh-ins.

En tanto mucha gente espera la llegada de las vacaciones, aquí esperamos la temporada de pesca, ¡y con la excelente temporada de pesca llega el torneo de pesca más grande del año! Este será el 47º año del Rodeo de Lanchas Mexicanas.

Tal como se acostumbra, el viernes 11 se realiza el banquete para los participantes, siendo el sábado 12 y el domingo 13 los días de la pesca.

Los organizadores han anunciado que los premios incluyen: automóviles, camionetas, motocicletas y dinero. El primer lugar se llevará un automóvil Mercedes Benz. El segundo, una camioneta.

Este torneo nuevamente será de pescar y soltar.   No se permiten tiburones. El marlín azul y el vela son para pescar y soltar. La pesca y liberación deben acompañarse de un video.

A cada embarcación se le permite pecar un espécimen de cada especie, por día. Esto significa que si usted pesca 4 dorados en un día, sólo se considerará a uno de éstos. Sin embargo, si usted pesca 4 dorados y 1 barracuda, podrá presentar un dorado y una barracuda.

La pesca inicia a las 8 a.m. de cada uno de esos días y las básculas se cierran puntualmente a las 6 p.m. Las básculas están abiertas a partir de las 4 p.m. Ya sea que usted participe en el torneo o sólo desea ver gente, al final del día diríjase el muelle de los ferries alrededor de las 4 p.m. para el pesaje.
