An island to fall in love with

“The Musical of Cozumel” It is the nickname that the members of the collective “producciones m + m” have given to their staging “una isla para enamorarse” “an island to fall in love with”. Which is an updated revival of the staging that was presented for the first time in 2018, 5 years ago within the framework of the 500 years of the meeting of two cultures.
The work narrates events that occurred in the past on the Island. And it takes place throughout 19 songs that at the time were written for Cozumel by various authors. These songs from the last century and according to its director, Lic. Manuel Alcocer, are already part of the island’s legacy.
The staging will serve to prepare for a national call by the Ministry of Culture at the federal level that has the objective of promoting independent talents of unrecognized artists. If selected, they will be able to access a resource of 300 thousand pesos to be able to tour the southeast of Mexico.
If selected, they will be able to make 10 presentations in the states of Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Campeche and Tabasco.
Among the qualities of the staging, they highlight that it is a work of original authorship, with author records and that it is also a musical. Something unusual among the participating projects. The songs are not newly created nor are they adaptations
“The musical is not made up of new or fictitious songs, but real songs that were written in Cozumel during the last century, therefore, as I already mentioned, they rescue a musical legacy from our town and I think that the most important thing despite being an independent collective, in this way we put the name of Cozumel very high in other places of the Republic. Not only as a tourist pole which it is and is mentioned within the story in the plot.”

“Cozumel4You, you can see an entertaining play. They can see a play where they will learn a little more about Cozumel. It is not only what they have in view, but also
everything that history contains and with it involves feeling not only proud of the place they have chosen to visit or to live. It is a charming island, I insist, not only for its natural attractions but also for all the events that Cozumel has been the scene of and that have marked the history of our own island of the peninsula and also of the country. It is an enriching experience that is also going to be fun because it has been adapted to be able to do some healthy family entertainment”
The play will only be presented during one weekend, at the Cozumel & Resort hotel, on Friday May 26 at 8pm, Saturday May 27 at 8pm and Sunday May 28 at 7pm, tickets have a symbolic cost of 150 pesos which is only to cover the expenses of the staging. Una isla para enamorarse

“El Musical de Cozumel” Es el apodo que entre los integrantes del colectivo “producciones m + m” han dado a su puesta en escena “una isla para enamorarse”. La cual es un reestreno actualizado de la puesta en escena que se presentó por primera vez en el año 2018, hace 5 años en el marco de los 500 años del encuentro de dos culturas.
La obra narra sucesos que acontecieron en el pasado de la Isla. Y transcurre a lo largo de 19 canciones que en su momento fueron escritas para Cozumel por diversos autores. Estas canciones del siglo pasado y a decir de su director, el Lic. Manuel Alcocer, ya forman parte del legado de la Isla.
La puesta en escena servirá para prepararse para a una convocatoria nacional por parte de la Secretaría de Cultura a nivel federal que tiene el objetivo de impulsar talentos independientes de artistas no reconocidos. De resultar seleccionados podrán acceder a un recurso de 300 mil pesos para poder hacer una gira por el sureste de México.
De ser seleccionados podrán hacer 10 presentaciones en los estados de Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Campeche y Tabasco.
Entre las cualidades de la puesta en escena, destacan que es una obra de autoría original, con registros de autor y que además es un musical. Algo poco común entre los proyectos participantes. Las canciones no son de creación reciente ni son adaptaciones
“El musical no se compone de canciones nuevas o ficticias sino canciones reales que fueron escritas a Cozumel durante el siglo pasado por lo tanto como ya mencioné, rescatan un legado musical de nuestra localidad y creo que lo más importante a pesar de ser un colectivo independiente, de esta manera ponemos el nombre de Cozumel muy en alto en otros lugares de la República. No solamente como un polo turístico el cual lo es y se menciona dentro de la historia en la trama.”
¿Que pueden ver los lectores de Cozumel4you que asistan a esta presentación de teatro?
“Cozumel4You, ustedes pueden ver una obra entretenida. Pueden ver una obra donde van a conocer un poquito más de Cozumel. No solamente es lo que tienen a la vista sino todo lo que la historia encierra y con lleva de sentirse no sólo orgullosos del lugar que han elegido visitar o para vivir. Es una isla encantadora insisto no solamente por sus atractivos naturales sino por todos los acontecimientos de los que Cozumel ha sido escenario y que han marcado la historia de nuestra propia ínsula de la península y también del país. Es una experiencia enriquecedora que además les va a divertir porque ha sido adaptado para poder hacer algo de sano entretenimiento familiar”
La obra se presentará únicamente durante un fin de semana, en el hotel Cozumel & Resort, los días viernes 26 de mayo a las 8pm, sábado 27 de mayo a las 8pm y domingo 28 de mayo a las 7pm, los boletos tienen un costo simbólico de 150 pesos el cual es solo para cubrir los gastos de la puesta en escena. Los boletos pueden ser adquiridos con los integrantes del equipo o en las páginas oficiales de Facebook e Instagram del colectivo.
