Cozumel’s 10th annual Cultural Fall Program is slated to take place from the 19 – 27th of October, and will feature over 30 activities highlighting local and regional artists.  This year’s theme, “Mother Earth,” was planned entirely through the efforts of the non-profit organization,  “Círculo Cultural Arcano.”  Included in the program, which appears as a poster in the “Upcoming & Continuing Events” section below,  features  film screenings , music and dance , and other artistic expressions that the island community and visitors can enjoy, all for  free, due to the generosity of corporate and private sponsors.

The “Mother Earth” Cultural Program will officially commence on Saturday  October 19 starting at 6 pm at Benito Juarez Park, downtown, and will feature ceremonies, drumming and even fire dancers.  Additional activities throughout the  9 days program include an organic market, a local producers fair,  and a recycling  awareness program.  Many events will occur at various locations throughout the island including  a puppet show, the Cozumel Youth Symphony Concert, an International Film Festival on the Environment (FICMA), marathon reading, and even a  ballet presentation.

On the closing day of the Festival, Saturday October 26, again at Benito Juarez Park , there will be a workshop on “Sprouting and Composting ” , also free to the general public , as well as music  by several well-known regional bands of many different genres.  For additional details  not found in the program please contact cozarcano@gmail.com, or visit the Facebook page.
