Cozumel Chrysalis Group To Hold 6th Annual 5K Walk/Run

Helping Educate Island Children since 1995, Here’s a Way to Help….

On February 25th, Chrysalis is holding their sixth annual 5k Walk/Run. It will be a fun event with t-shirts for the participants and great prizes for the top finishers. Many of you will not be on the island to participate, but you can support this event from afar by sponsoring a youth athlete who would not be able to participate without your help. Just $10 allows a young runner to be a part of the fun. Please be generous and support as many as you can. For your convenience, a donation page has been created, allowing you to show your support for the children of Cozumel from wherever you are.

special island. Chrysalis was established in 1995, giving scholarships to Cozumel students in primary through high school. Although students attend public school, they still must purchase uniforms, shoes and school supplies. For so many families in Cozumel, these expenses are a significant hardship and determine the difference between continuing education and dropping out to help support the family.

In order to break the cycle of poverty for these students, it is imperative that they be encouraged and supported to continue their education!

Chrysalis began with just a handful of volunteers and 10 scholarship recipients. Now we are proud to be supporting 350 students, but there are countless more that still need our help. As this need grows, so does our commitment to the children of Cozumel. Chrysalis is very grateful to local sponsors and island visitors whose contributions allow us to maintain support for our current students. Because of increased need, Chrysalis is holding an event to raise additional funds.

Your donation of any size is greatly appreciated. Please visit the donation page here:

El grupo Chrysalis Cozumel realiza la 6ª.  Caminata/Carrera 5k
