2018 Cozumel Carnaval Season Ends

The ritual burning of “Juan Carnaval,” on Wednesday February 14th marked the traditional ending to the Cozumel Carnaval celebrations for 2018. Members of the Cozumel Municipal Government were on hand, as well as the 2018 Carnaval Organizing community who gave out prizes and awards to participants. Cozumel has a long rich Carnaval history stretching over 100 years.

The President of the Cozumel Hotel Association is reporting that occupancy rates for their members reached 90%   and exceeded last year’s numbers AND this current year’s projections.   He also noted that plans are in the works next year for a hotel/airline collaboration that

could create packages for the 2019 Carnaval.

El presidente de la Asociación de Hoteles de Cozumel reporta que la tasa de ocupación entre los socios alcanzó 90%, excediendo las cifras del año anterior así como las proyecciones de este año. También apuntó que para el próximo año se planea la colaboración hotel/aerolínea creando paquetes para el Carnaval 2019.
