2017 Hurricane Predictions: Less Activity than 2016

CSU predictions are for a slighter lower than average season…

The meteorologists from Colorado State University are predicting active hurricane season than the previous year.  According to their experts Atlantic predictions are 11 named storms, 2 hurricanes (as opposed to 9 predicted for 2016), and only 2 intense hurricanes.  This is slightly below the 30 year  average of 12 named storms, 6.5 hurricanes,  and 2 intense hurricanes.

Though the official Atlantic hurricane season runs from June through November, occasionally we can see storms form outside those months, as happened last season with January’s Hurricane Alex and late May’s Tropical Storm Bonnie.
