Queen Heather continues her preparation towards the Cozumel 2024 carnival. On this occasion we bring you an interview with her choreographer. Emanuel Campos Coral. 37-year-old Cozumeleño, who has dedicated his entire life to being part of the Cozumel Carnival. The first troupe that he had on his own was in 2005. Arlequines del Sol. Over time he grew professionally and also met more people. He became more and more involved in the candidates and troupes. This year he is working with the responsibility of being Queen Heather’s choreographer.
“We are working on this project opportunity for the queen Lady show 2024, which is the first time in which the American community is given the opportunity to be Queen on the island of Cozumel.”
Emmanuel tells us that the level of competitiveness is very high regardless of whether it is a candidate or not. Well, everyone has their eyes on the choreography, the costumes, the music and there is definitely no boy group. Everyone wants to be the best.
Their groups are usually very large, reaching numbers from 50, 60 and even 80 or 90 people.
“There are 4 groups which Heather is organizing, she is organizing a youth group, we are organizing a group from the American community, we are also organizing a group from the community here in the east of the people of Cozumel and later “Antifaces” is a troupe where “Heather has been with us for more than 7 years, she is supporting Heather on this occasion and as part of the entire show we are around almost 70, 80 people on stage.”
It is very common for participants to make invitations to different troupes and each participant has their favorite choreographers, costumers, and it is not even unusual for them to organize to participate in more than one troupe per carnival. Adding the adrenaline of changing costumes and express makeup is very common on carnival nights.
This year “antifaces y mascaras” will be supporting part of Heather’s show.
Yes, masks and moon masks are rehearsing in support of what is being part of the queen’s show that year. Heather.
It is important to remember that Queen Heather this year will appear at an event called “ladies show” which is for the benefit of the DIF. Only women can attend this event and later the same show will be presented to the entire community at one of the carnival events.
By these dates the registrations to Queen Heather’s bands must already be closed, since what remains ahead is to polish the choreographies and practice the stage performance of each of the musical paintings that will be part of the show.

La reina heather continua su preparacion rumbo al carnaval Cozumel 2024. En esta ocasión les traemos una entrevista con su coreografo. Emmanuel Campos Coral. Cozumeleño de 37 años de edad, que toda su vida se ha dedicado a formar parte del Carnaval de Cozumel. La primera comparsa que tuvo por cuenta propia fue en 2005. Arlequines del Sol. Con el tiempo fue creciendo profesionalmente y tambien conociendo a mas personas. Se fue involucrando cada vez mas en las candidaturas y comparsas. Este año trabaja con la responsabilidad de ser el coreografo de la reina Heather.
“Estamos trabajando esta oportunidad de proyecto de la reina Lady show 2024 que es la primera vez en la que se le da la oportunidad a la comunidad americana de ser Reina en la isla de Cozumel.”
Emanuel nos comenta que el nivel de competitividad es muy alto independientemente de si se trata de un candidato o no. Pues todo mundo tiene los ojos puestos en las coreografias, los trajes, la musica y definitivamente no hay grupo pequeños. Todos quieren ser los mejores.
Sus grupos suelen ser muy grandes, alcanzando cifras desde 50, 60 y hasta 80 o 90 personas.
“Son 4 grupos los cuales está sacando Heather está sacando un grupo juvenil estamos sacando un grupo de la comunidad americana estamos sacando también un grupo de la comunidad de aquí de la este de de la gente de Cozumel y posteriormente “Antifaces” es una comparsa donde Heather ha estado más de 7 años con nosotros, está apoyando a Heather en esta ocasión y formando parte de todo el show somos alrededor casi de 70, 80 personas en escena.”
Es muy comun que entre participantes se hagan invitaciones para las diferentes comparsas y cada participante tiene a sus coreografos favoritos, sis vestuaristas, e incluso no es raro que se organicen para participar en mas de una comparsa por carnaval. El añadir la adrenalina del cambio de vestuarios y de maquillaje express, es muy común en las noches de carnaval.
Este año “anticaces y mascaras” estaran apoyando con parte del show de Heather.
Sí, antifaces y máscaras de la luna está ensayando apoyando a lo que viene siendo la parte del show de la reina de ese año. Que es Heather.
Es importante recordar que la reina heather este año se presentara en un evento llamado “ladies show” el cual es a beneficencia del DIF. En dicho evento solo pueden asistir mujeres y posteriormente el mismo espectaculo sera presentado a toda la comunidad en uno de los eventos del carnaval.
Para estas fechas los registros a las compartas de la reina heather ya deben estar cerrados, pues lo que queda por delante es pulir las coreografias e ir practicando el desenvolimiento escenico de cada uno de los cuadros musicales que formaran parte del show.
Recuerda adquirir tus boletos con tiempo y asi poder acompañar a la reina Heather en su espectaculo como la primera reina extranjera del “ladies show”.
