Fredy Marrufo Martín was officially sworn in as Cozumel’s new President on September 30th, and he and his new cabinet have already begun their official duties. More than 5,000 residents and dignitaries turned out including Roberto Borge, the Governor of the State of Quintana Roo, who served as the special witness to the proceedings. The new administration’s cabinet, which will serve from 2103 – 2016, includes:
Edwin Arguelles Gonzalez as Secretary General
Antonio Baduy Moscoso as Municipal Treasurer
Sergio Terrazas Montes as of Public Safety & Traffic,
Captain Rudy Erosa Navarrete, in charge of Civil Protection
Cesar Trejo in charge of Tourism and Ecology
The President’s wife, Georgina “Gina” Ruíz de Marrufo, as was also appointed honorary president of DIF, where she will serve along with Director Víctor Hugo Venegas Molina.
