Cozumel Murals Sea Walls
Cozumel Island Brightened with Nearly 40 Sea Wall Murals
Cozumel has been gifted with the addition of nearly 40 new beautiful murals. Each mural has it’s own theme based on ocean conservation, making the island an ideal showcase. Artists, some even from as far away as Taiwan, New Zealand, South Africa and Brasil have converged here for the Pangaseed Foundation’s second annual Sea Walls: Mural for Oceans project. The project “is a groundbreaking street art project created byPangeaSeed members and supporting artists to help bring the beauty and the plight of the world’s oceans into streets around the globe via art and activism.”
Island residents have delighted in touring each of the 36 large and colorful murals, using a helpful map Sea Walls kindly provided, and local photographers have been sharing their photos in the Cozumel 4 You facebook group and other public forums so that those not currently on-island can be aware of this project. You can also find information on the murals and their artists onInstagram. There’s even been an app created by Vuala! That you can download
