Live Music In Cozumel: Noe & The Classics & October Music Schedule
Noe & The Classics is a new band to the island of Cozumel, however, they’ve been jamming together for over 13 years. Recently relocated from Ajijic, Jalisco, the band can be found playing in different locations throughout Cozumel, most notably Wednesday nights at Just Chillin’ and Saturday nights at La Sabrosa.
Noe and other band members, Sergio and Hector, started playing together in the US retirement haven of Lake Chapala. “We learned the songs of the 50’s and 60’s in English and Spanish, since that’s what our fans liked,” remembers Noe. Since they’ve been playing together so long, they have a huge repertory of songs so they can change it up, and take requests. Noe & The Classics can play anything from Elvis, The Beatles to Louis Armstrong.

Noé y The Classics es una banda nueva en la Isla de Cozumel y han estado tocando desde hace 13 años. En fechas recientes se mudaron desde Ajijic, Jalisco. Se les puede ver tocando en diferentes sitios en Cozumel, principalmente los días miércoles por la noche en Just Chillin’ y las noches de los días sábado en La Sabrosa.
Noé así como Sergio y Héctor, otros miembros de la banda, comenzaron a tocar juntos en el lago de Chapala, el paraíso del retiro para estadounidenses. “Aprendimos a tocar música de las décadas de los años 50 y 60, en inglés y en español ya que es lo que gusta a nuestros fans”, recuerda Noé. Debido a que han estado tocando juntos desde hace tanto tiempo, cuentan con un repertorio de canciones muy amplio para cambiarlo y tocar peticiones. Noé y The Classics pueden interpretar cualquier cosas desde Elvis, los Beatles hasta Louis Armstrong.

Teresa is a huge fan of both singing and dancing, and since Cozumel has so many places to hear great live music, she’s become quite the expert. Originally from Texas, she has spent nearly 10 years in Cozumel. Teresa is an active volunteer for the Humane Society of Cozumel island andis the owner of Salon Cielo, a full service salon offering an array of services for both hair and nails.
